US labor market report

US labor market report

A block of American labor market data is usually published on the first Friday of a month and June 2017 is no exception to this tradition.

US nonfarm payrolls (NFP), unemployment rate and average hourly earnings will be released at 15:30 MT time on June 2. The previous report for April has beaten the forecasts.

The upcoming figures will be closely monitored by the Federal Reserve’s officials. US central bank will have to make a decision on the federal funds rate on June 14. Higher-than-expected NFP readings will make traders sure that the Fed will raise rate in June and probably later this year as well, and thus lead to the USD appreciation.
